Performance optimization

I have profiled the Python component view initialization/creation process in the past, but I should profile that again along with:

• Python message endpoint view
• JavaScript code that creates components and fires the events

The goal is to make updates as fast as possible to reduce the appearance of lag. Best to test with a throttled network ("Regular 2G" in Firefox network prefs has been a good test-bed in the past).
