Event Platform built to manage and showcase events seamlessly. It features a dynamic home page displaying upcoming events, robust API routes for CRUD operations, Cloudinary-powered image uploads, detailed event pages with registration and similar event suggestions, and integrated analytics to track user engagement and optimize performance.

⚙️ Tech Stack

• Cloudinary is a cloud-based media management platform that simplifies image and video uploads, storage, optimization, and delivery. It helps developers manage media efficiently and improve website performance.

Follow these steps to set up the project locally on your machine.

Prerequisites

Make sure you have the following installed on your machine:

• Git
• Node.js
• npm (Node Package Manager)

Cloning the Repository

git clone https://github.com/adrianhajdin/dev-events-nextjs16-crash-course.git
cd dev-events-nextjs16-crash-course

Installation

Install the project dependencies using npm:

npm install

Set Up Environment Variables

Create a new file named .env in the root of your project and add the following content:

NEXT_PUBLIC_BASE_URL=http://localhost:3000/

MONGODB_URI=

CLOUDINARY_URL=

NEXT_PUBLIC_POSTHOG_KEY=
NEXT_PUBLIC_POSTHOG_HOST=https://eu.i.posthog.com

Replace the placeholder values with your real credentials. You can get these here: Cloudinary, MongoDB, PostHog.

Running the Project

npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser to view the project.
