React 19 Compatibility Inquiry

Hi UI Kitten Team,

We are planning to upgrade our React Native version to the latest release, which uses React 19. We noticed that the current UI Kitten version officially supports React 18.

Could you please let us know if there are plans to support React 19 in an upcoming release, or any recommended approach for using UI Kitten with React 19?

I also need this urgently. I will post a patch with a solution for a <Select> bug when the component is a child of a ScrollView. Although it's unrelated to RN 0.79, maybe that will increase the activity on the repo.

Otherwise, we will either be forced to patch up stuff or... just abandon this library.

Also, I noticed that the useTheme hook fails for me after the upgrade.

I found out why the useTheme hook threw an error referencing icons. I think this is related to my upgrade of react-native-svg.

Anyways, I registered another icons pack (i.e. MaterialCommunityIcons) and everything works as expected. I might have to change some icon names and adapt the icons from eva-icons to the ones in the material-community-icons package.

Check out the "3rd party Icon packages" section here and that will be enough to get rid of the error. I will create a separate issue on this topic.

Indeed, switching to another icon pack like MaterialCommunityIcons seems like a good workaround, and I’ll check the “3rd party Icon packages” section.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of activity over here. I'll do my best to come up with patches and pull requests, maybe we'll revive this project.
