Hi Gregory, FoxTelem is no longer supported on the Mac. To run FoxTelem on a Pi, you need to run the .jar file using a command like this inside the FoxTelem directory:
There are a number of different versions of Java. To install the one that I use, run this command:
You also need to install the drivers for the RTL-SDR v3 or v4. Instead, I would recommend flashing this 16 GB disk image of Fox-in-a-Box v4 Beta which will run on a Pi 5 (the FIABv3 image will run on a Pi 4 but not a Pi 5). https://cubesatsim.org/download/fiabv4-beta.iso.zip It has software pre-configured to decode all 7 modes of the CubeSatSim. Good luck! |

I had some formatting issues with my micro SD card. However, I figured out the issue and I was able to get the Ground Station to Flash with https://cubesatsim.org/download/fiabv4-beta.iso.zip. The software is not too hard to figure out and I was able see CW signal, Packet, SSK TV decode an image of the AMSAT logo. Once I get sensors soldered on it and more of it completed it will be fun to see more of the Cubesatsim in action. I am finding the Cubesatsim to be an impressive open source project. Thank you for your help. |

I have been able to install Ground Station Software, Fox-In-A-Box, and it shows up on a folder on my Raspberry Pi 5 desktop. I have unzipped the file, however, I am not sure how to get the program to run. Any suggestions on what I should to get this done.
On the Mac computer I was not able to install Java. When I clicked on the link I saw a file that said Java update but I did not know get it installed. I not sure how to move forward to get this software to work.
Thanks,
Gregory
