FWIW I have updated IntelliJ and manually updated to 1.6.0. I don't encounter any issues apart from the issue I already had in the former IntelliJ + AMII version. Namely:

• the plug-in randomly starts or does not start
• in case it starts, all good
• in case it does not start, then I have to restart IntelliJ, repeat until the plug-in starts
  • in case it does not start, your IntelliJ will hang as soon as you click on the AMII icon or try to open plug-in settings

@AFulgens just disable startup greeting, it will work everytime that way.

1. During IDE startup, the ApplicationLifecycleListener is being instantiated, This triggers static initialization of PlatformHacker.

2. PlatformHacker calls IconPathReplacementComponent.installComponents(), This method tries to get the Config service instance during static initialization

3. IntelliJ's service container detects this violation and throws an error

i didn't have time to investigate further, as the solution worked, but you're probably right.

Meh, sadly that does not fix it for me. Without startup greeting I don't see whether AMII started or not and have the same behaviour as with startup greeting 🤷

Just a heads-up: DataGrip released 2025.2 and AMII 1.6.0 is yet again not compatible. What are the guys at JetBrains thinking, really?!

Can confirm that the issue of IDE freezing sometimes when opening settings on Goland was fixed by disabling startup greeting. Sad that I only saw this thread and finally added the animemes back the day before Goland received a new update
