What's Changed

The "Delete Uploads" option has always allowed you to optionally choose whether you want to search for and add the uploads to your library before deleting them from your uploads. But now the search has been improved with a more intelligent "fuzzy" matching algorithm, and is adjustable regarding how stringent the fuzzy matching is.

What's Changed

  • Bug fix:
    • A recent update by Google caused get_playlist to return no more than 100 items, meaning if you tried to use "Sort Playlist" or "Remove Duplicates", it would only operate on 100 songs of your playlist, instead of the entire thing. This updates to the latest version of ytmusicapi to resolve that.

What's New

I am pleased to announce that YTMusic Deleter now has a macOS release!

I've never owned a Mac in my life, but I was able to test this bad boy on a virtual machine, and it seems like it's working! 😅

Please see the main README for installation information. It requires selecting the right version based on your architecture (Intel or M1), and also requires whitelisting the file because Mac automatically tries to quarantine it.

If you happen to have a Mac and you've been wanting to use the GUI version of YTMusic Deleter, give it a go!

What's Changed

  • Feature: Added a button in the Settings menu that will open the YTMusic_Deleter user data folder on your computer.
    • You can use this to easily find log files or the browser.json file which is used for authentication.
  • Bugfix: Fixed the Linux app, which was not starting up due to a change in 2.9.4
  • Bugfix: Ensure an error is logged if fetching playlists fails for any of the playlist functions.
  • Updated README to mention troubleshooting steps if you get a Forbidden/Unauthorized error.
  • Set the application style to "Fusion" which seems to help with text being cut off in the Linux app.

Mac OS version still coming soon! Waiting for a new release by ytmusicapi to fix an issue.

What's Changed

Google, in their infinite wisdom, have removed OAuth as an available sign-in method from YouTube/YouTube Music API integration. 😠

This means we have to revert back to the old, annoying method of sigining in where you paste request headers from your browser (see the README for instructions). Another downside of this is that you don't get a nice profile picture and Account Name showing up to show who you are signed in as.

In case OAuth ever works again in the future, I added an option in the File -> Preferences menu that will enable it.

(Fixes #85)
