Yeah, I think it is the second revision of the elgato. I bought it thinking it had to be the first revision since it was only $100 USD. It seemed way to cheap to be the second revision. I got it off eBay and now I am thinking someone sold me a bad device or something. I tried hooking it to my PC and checking the settings and the automatic tone mapping on device was set to false. However, there was another option that said turn on automatic tone mapping on device when exiting. That was set to true. I disabled that and exited the elgato capture app and then tried the calibration again and it succeeded this time. I thought everything was good now and colors looked ok, but for some reason now when I change the input to my Switch 2 I just get a "no signal" on my elgato in the video preview. I was getting a signal perfectly fine before that. I don't know if this is something I can fix or not, if there is anything worth trying. Do you think I should just say screw it and buy a UGreen? I never had these kinds of issues in the past, but I was also using the v1 of the elgato.. |

You can check if it's the second version by checking the ProductId (lsusb in Linux, driver properties in Windows). Is there any error message in the video stream in the HyperHDR preview window, such as an incorrect capture resolution or just "no signal"? Is the firmware the same as before, or did you update it when running the Elgato tool to change tone mapping settings? Elgato is connected to the second port of Ezcoo splitter and scaller for this port is enabled? |

Yeah, it says rev 2 for the product ID. Idk why it was selling brand new so cheap. I didn't not update the firmware. I was actually going to in order to try and fix it, but it said it was already up to date. It wasn't the incorrect resolution message, just no signal at all, which was very strange. The Elgato is in the second port of the splitter and the the scalar is turned OFF. However, I just unplugged the capture card because it seemed to be making my Apple TV not get a picture at all. After I was done watching a movie and plugged it back in and while I was at it I changed the scalar mode to be enabled for the second port. I'm not sure which of those fixed it, but it seems to be working find for both the Apple TV AND the Switch 2 now....no idea. I'm not complaining though...unless it continues to be a problem. Anyways, thanks for the advice and help. It's much appreciated. The only bummer is that since the TV is a bit far from the wall I get a lot of the colors bleeding together. Nothing I can really do about that though. I considered trying an experiment of cutting small pieces of a tube, like a straw, and gluing one to each LED in an attempt to make the light more directed but it probably wouldn't help anyway. |

It's possible that with these firmware changes, Elgato changed something in its EDID. I remember there was sometimes a problem when switching sources between the Ezcoo and MS2130, but it was related to the brightness level target, and all that was needed was to update the firmware in the MS2130 (different EDID) or reset the Ezcoo. If this problem persists for you, it might be a matter of the device startup order, but let's hope that a hard-reset reset the previous EDID settings. You can experiment with grouping in the LED geometry settings in HyperHDR. Of course, you'll lose some resolution if, for example, two adjacent LEDs emit the same average color, but it's possible that this will reduce the blending effect. I haven't tested this, but at least that's what I was aiming for when implementing this feature. I think the best LED placement in this situation would be straight ahead, facing the wall, without any angle. |

Hi,
So I just got done setting up my new system. The lights seem to be working as expected, though the LED calibration seems to fail. My system consists of the following.
Raspberry Pi 4
EZCOO Splitter
Elgato HD60x
Pimoroni Plasma 2040
Sk6812 LED strip 60Pixel/m 12v
HyperHDR 21.0 with patch OS image
I am running the calibration video using my Xbox and a USB drive through the movies and TV app. I can tell the TV does go into HDR mode and the video plays. The calibration seems to be detecting it and processing but then gives me the following popup error
If I try to run it with debug selected, I get an almost immediate popup error of

I have no idea what is happening or where to look. This is what my video capture settings look like
