The Agentic Coding feature modifies my code even when it is turned off

Steps to Reproduce the Issue
Turn off Agentic Coding.
Prompt for code logic.
Observe that the code is still modified.
Expected Behavior
When Agentic Coding is OFF, no files should be modified.

Same here, even if I open a new chat or turn off-on-off the Agentic mode switch - Q keeps editing my code.
Fortunately I use git, but that's a pretty bad UX here

Temporary workaround (not ideal but...), create this new Rule .amazonq/rules/NoEdit.md and enable it

DO NOT EDIT THE FILES, YOU ARE NOT IN AGENT MODE

The thing is you must created it in every project

I don't think its fixed completely. Even when agentic coding is off it attempts to edit files but eventually fails.

I did not notice the issue again on my setup, are you using Sonnet 3.7 ?

happens for both sonnet 4 and 3.7. a lot of time is wasted trying to update the code an dafter several attempts, the shows the suggestions.
