`~/.cookiecutters` and `~/.cookiecutter_replay`

cookiecutter creates two folders in the home dir:

• ~/.cookiecutters
• ~/.cookiecutter_replay

The relevant issue on the project is closed: cookiecutter/cookiecutter#104

The discussion in that issue is not clear enough for me to tell if there is a short-term workaround.

I don't expect to use cookiecutter regularly, but I thought I'd file an issue here before I forget.
