Scroll based interactions

hey there.
i really love your plugin. and it works perfectly on my website. the only thing is.. my scroll based interactions don't work anymore now. i guess it's because of the fixed wrapper as the elements don't really scroll into view anymore. how can i achieve this?

Hi @milkdesign,

Sorry for the delay — are you still experiencing this issue?

I guess your problem is that you're using the virtual-scroll (with native: false in the options). If you use native: true, it should use the default browser scrollbar, and all the other scroll based interactions should work.

Otherwise, you can keep on using native: false, and just pass the desired scrollY value from smooth-scrolling to your other scroll based interactions. To get the scroll value, you can do: smooth.vars.current. It should return the current scrollY of the page.

thanks for the reply. using native:true really did the trick. there is still one problem i am experiencing. with the apple magic trackpad, if you scroll down and stop the scrolling (putting your fingers back on the trackpad) the scroll based interactions (eg parallax) kind of halt and the suddenly work again.

My first idea would be to use pixels instead of percentages for parallax elements. I think this is the issue. Let me know if using pixels fixed the jumps!

thank you so much for standing by. i updated my testing site (see link above) but using pixels did not fix the jumps.

i think its because of the special use case of the trackpad. maybe it's not very common, but i scroll like that all day. you use two fingers to scroll down and then immediately put them back on the trackpad again. i don't like the default osx scroll smoothing and that way you can stop it.

so when you put your fingers back on the trackpad the native scrolling stops. and because in my example the native scrolling triggers the parallax, it stops too, although the smooth scrolling continues.

i uploaded a little video of my hands using the trackpad in the way that causes the jumps. hopefully this helps you reproduce this and make your smooth scrolling a little smoother.

hey man. haha, sorry for the late reply, too. but i am still hoping that it will work someday. i just did some more testing. and i can confirm that the behaviour in your repository demos, too. but only if native scrolling is enabled. i would really love if you could take a closer look on this. you're plugin is just the best!
