Check if the team has already included the idea in the [backlog](https://github.com/bcgov/design-system/projects/1), or if someone else has already suggested the same idea or something similar.
In the contributing guide it advises contributors to check the backlog first but the Github project is private so people cannot see it.

but it's nicer to view github projects from a dev's POV
