I'm working on a big new release for Blink (26?). The plan was to ship it alongside the new iOS, and it's kept me busy for the last few months — but unfortunately, it's not ready yet.

I've been talking a lot about getting back to the original Blink, and how to take to the next level the things that made this Terminal special. There are many things that I wanted to see for years, like better integration of Mosh and ssh, with tunnels and agents, better integration with other platforms, and better integrations with the system. Fingers crossed it all goes well!

Version 18.4.0

This is a bridge version to cover all the bases on iOS26 / iPadOS26. I didn’t to hold useful iOS-related updates while the bigger release is still in progress. This version should address most of the issues we've seen recently in the betas — either completely or partially. Some fixes were tricky to port because they’re already solved in the upcoming version as part of a major cleanup, but I did what I could to bring them over.

I hope this release helps, and as always, feel free to open issues — I’ll keep patching things on new iOS as quickly as possible.

• Fixed issues with the software keyboard bar and terminal layout (Issue Blinking cursor in bottom left & incorrect Smart Keys layout on iOS26 #2152)
• Fixed bugs with Snips (Issue Snips blocking on iOS26 (iPhone) #2154)
• Adjusted layout for the new iPhone 17 series and Air

Known Issues

• Layout changes should work 99% of the time. In some cases, you might still see a blue cursor when opening a new tab — it should go away once you interact with the terminal. This is already fixed in the upcoming version, but the full fix couldn’t be backported since it involves a new UI component.
