Description
Background
The Platform Engineering team develops and maintains around 40 charms, which are software operators for deploying and operating an application in the Juju ecosystem. While the purpose and needs of an individual charm can differ, the contributing guidelines remain consistent across the team’s portfolio. Over the past year, we have made efforts to improve our standard contributing guidelines, and now we need to apply those guidelines across our various repositories. That’s where you come in!
What we need
Update the CONTRIBUTING.md file for the WordPress charm located in the canonical/wordpress-k8s-operator repository. Compare the charm’s current contributing file to the template CONTRIBUTING.md in canonical/platform-engineering-charm-template and add the missing sections.
Once you’re assigned this issue, please open a pull request directly into canonical/wordpress-k8s-operator. In order to contribute, you must sign the Canonical contributor license agreement.
Outcome
On completion of this task, the WordPress charm’s contributing guidelines will be aligned with the current standards of the Platform Engineering team, providing more context and helpful information to future contributors.
