How to reset state of the peripheral?

Just wanna know if it's possible to reset a peripheral without either breaking it, or rebooting a pc?
Assume I have double chest that I wrap and call size on it, which returns 54, as the number of slots it has.
Then I break half of it, and size here would return the same thing, unless I would disconnect a peripheral, or reboot a pc
I'd like to dynamically check for capacity of storage system in my project, and I am looking for a workaround for a situation where a person would break a half of the chest, or make a double chest form a single one, and it'd be able to detect that, thank you in advance!

This sounds like error, if you break off half of chest, it should report half chest size not double chest one.

Oh I see, it seems it's issue with either my version of cc:tweaked, or fabric, since I just installed a different version on Forge and it works like it's supposed to, thank you
