I noticed there is another package hetbuilder which builds 2D heterostructures via coincidence lattice theory. I tried some tests using hetbuilder but failed to see the expected results as represented in its document, see here for more details.

On the other hand, this package uses different methods to find stable heterostructures as described in your paper. From your paper, it seems that your package has implemented a systematic approach to solving the following problems:

  1. Finding a matching lattice between the 2D material and substrate surface.
  2. Identifying "ideal" or likely locations to place the 2D material on the substrate surface to generate stable low-energy heterostructures.

But I still want to know if the coincidence lattice theory really cannot solve the first problem mentioned above well.
