The guide is used to help ChatGPT avoid mistakes and be able to interact with systems more effectively. It started out as a guide to text editing but has evolved into how to use the plugin more generally.
Context: the guide gives ChatGPT information about the specific context of the Pandora plugin, that it wouldn't otherwise know
LLM limitations. Material that LLMs have been trained on encourage things like cat big-file.txt. A human can easily scroll and skim the text, or see there's too much content and ignore it, trying something else. Lots of text will fill up a LLM context window, causing them to forget their task.
Easier feedback. I'm lazy and it's quicker to say "follow the guide", rather than tell it exactly what to do each time.
ChatGPT seems to follow the guide by itself to an extent but sometimes you have to ask it explicitly.
The guide has evolved based on usage of Pandora. If you've used the plugin and have ideas for improvement then submit a PR or let me know here.
Note that the guide is for ChatGPT, not for humans. If you just ask ChatGPT to improve the guide then it will write something aimed at humans, not aimed at itself.

You can see it here: https://github.com/dave1010/pandora/blob/main/the-guide.txt
There's a few reasons for the guide:
cat big-file.txt
