Store list of feeds in a database [nwe.pm’s patches make this easier]
Store entire config in a database [nwe.pm’s patches make this easier]
Look at HTML::Laundry to replace HTML::Tidy and HTML::Scrubber (also, HTML::Sanitizer may be worth looking at as it implements some sort of standard WHATWG rules for sanitizing external HTML).
