Description
Description
Goal: Migrate all missing BPDM end-to-end test cases into the central Catena-X / Tractus-X Jira Xray repository to maintain them there going forward. This means either test cases that may have been created outside of Xray since the initial import last year during 24.08 release, or that were until now maintained completely outside of Xray.
See main parent issue eclipse-tractusx/sig-release#1483 for further details
Test management plans to support the efforts with "how-to" guides and walk-in sessions.
Why it matters
- Centralized repository of relevant test cases for test planning, test execution and test reporting during the end-to-end test phase
- Improves traceability / visibility for test management, release management and stakeholders from other products.
- Ensures alignment with Tractus-X QA and release processes.
Acceptance Criteria
- Identify all BPDM E2E test cases that might be missing from Jira Xray repository.
- Migrate (import) them into Jira Xray by end of the assigned milestone release cycle.
- Validate that all migrated test cases were correctly imported so they are correctly described and can be used for future releases.
If existing tests are outdated but should still be kept in the repository their issue status can be set accordingly.
Also grouping the test cases (issues of type "Test") into Test Plans or Test Sets is optional; the test can be arranged in the repository folder structure as needed by a product.
Going forward, test cases in Xray will also be maintained there and referenced in the Tractus-X SIG-Release "Feature" issue template and release check issues.
Dependencies / Notes
- Tests of type "manual" (with step descriptions, data, expected result), "Cucumber" (automated test cases described in Gherkin syntax) or "Generic" (other tests such as script collections) are supported in Xray.
- Issues of type "Bug" remain only tracked in GitHub (not duplicated in Jira Xray).
- Only E2E tests and if applicable similar user acceptance tests or compatibility tests to be executed on Catena-X INT or STABLE environments should be in scope (i.e. it is NOT needed to document any unit tests, lower level API tests, etc.).
