dot in alt i - not same width/thickness as j

I've noticed that when using the alternative i character, the size of the dot is smaller than that of the j character.

I notice this both in italics as well as regular characters.

interesting. this seems to happen only when using the variable font and turning the font feature setting cv04 on.
