Muted mic not aligning with clicking mute button, plus other participants audio seeming to mute when changing my own mute

Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?

• In app call, initiated by somebody else.

2. What do you click?

• mute button, until I actually got scared of clicking it 'cause it seemed to interrupt other participants' audio stream.
• also my mic muting didn't sync up with my button clicking/local UX, so people only heard part of what I came off mic to say
