Windows installation issue

Hi,
I can't seem to install this on Windows 11. I get errors like this:

C:\Users\Gurdip> uv tool install readmeai

x Failed to build tiktoken==0.4.0
|-> The build backend returned an error

✅ 1. Check Your Python Version

tiktoken needs Python 3.8+. Run this to confirm:

python --version

📦 2. Upgrade pip & build tools

Make sure pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date:

python -m pip install --upgrade pip setuptools wheel

🛠️ 3. Install Microsoft C++ Build Tools (for Windows users)

tiktoken sometimes compiles native code, so you’ll need the C++ build tools.
You can grab them here:

During install, make sure to check “Desktop development with C++”.

🦀 4. Rust Might Be Needed

Some newer dependencies rely on Rust. If you see errors about Rust, install it from:

Before installing readme-ai (or any package that depends on it), try this:

python -m pip install tiktoken==0.4.0

If it fails, the error logs should give more context.

python -m pip install --only-binary=:all: tiktoken==0.4.0
