We already have ERC20 support in cast balance, I think it would be nice to also have support for sending ERC20 tokens using cast send.

Note that providing cast send --erc20 should conflict with some other flags (such as --input/--data).

I'm assuming --erc20 would refer here to transfer(address,uint256)?

Do we also need a shorthand for approving a token: approve(address,uint256)?

yes to first q, for second q, I'm not sure, but it's a good question. we could possibly detect this and notify the user.
