Can’t access freeCodeCamp app after update.

Describe the bug
Suddenly can’t access freeCodeCamp app immediately after app update on iPhone.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to any lessons
2. Click on one of the steps
3. It will return to home screen immediately.

Expected behavior
It should’ve allowed user to enter to the desired section/step of the lessons

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

• Device: iPhone 13
• OS: iOS 18.3.2
• Browser freeCodeCamp app
• Version 6.0.0

Hi, could you mention which lesson and which step is causing this issue? Or is it any lesson you open?

It seems to be any lesson involving the in-app editor. Daily challenges and Responsive Web Design lessons seem to result in a crash. iPhone 12 iOS 17.5.1.

Could you try resetting the cache in the settings page? You'll find the settings view in the app sidebar.

I've just tried a few times—I can confirm the crash is still consistent.

I've tried to reproduce this issue as much as possible but it's not happening on either a simulator or a physical device nor do we have any new/spiking crash reports which makes things harder to debug. Also there will be another update out later this week with some code bugfixes which may or may not fix the issue that you're facing.

Could you try re-installing the app? Or post a screen recording?

Sorry it's been a while. I've just checked again to ensure the crash is still consistent after clearing cache and reinstalling the app. I've attempted to upload a comment with a screen recording as an attachment, but it looks like it won't work. Is there some way I can get the video directly to you? Maybe it'll provide more insight into the issue.

And just to confirm, are you on 6.0.0 or 6.0.1?

Here it is. I had to convert the file to mp4, for some reason .mov doesn't want to upload to for me. I verified that I am indeed i 6.0.1 and that this issue is still taking place. Thanks.

We're investigating the issue. We have seen a number of crash reports lately, but it's quite difficult to identify the issue because we can't reproduce it on our end. So please bear with us :)
