Directives Removed!

When can we expect directives back? I have been using custom directives for a while now, and they were removed in 1.6 and so i can't upgrade. They work great. The only missing feature is to have them on schema or query / mutation fields.

Even a beta branch with the old directives implementation would be great.

What are the most important use cases that you are interested in?

the main one is hasRole(roles: [Role]), minRole(role: Role), and hasScope(scope: String) that we use for guarding against certain resolvers (mostly mutations) instead of repeating the checks in each of the resolvers. Another one we use is inMaintenance that does a check if we need to set our api to read only mode. This way i can turn off access to all mutations but keep queries working without much effort.
