In etherpad, the link to a pad is /p/list, where list is the name of the pad, maybe this could be also the case for hackmd, because it makes sharing much easier.

For self-hosted instances HMD_ALLOW_FREEURL exists, which allows you to set what ever URL you want for a pad. See #44

Right now the only way to move a document to a free URL is to copy the content into the new one.

Sadly, this will split up the document history.
