Artist avatars bug

v0.97.0 had a bug that prevented artist avatars from loading properly. While v0.97.1 contains fixes for future avatar downloads, affected artists won't have avatars downloaded again automatically. Please see this PR comment for a remedy.

Regarding Flatpak manifests

We are pleased to announce that Euphonica is now officially available on Flathub, beginning with version 0.97.0. Releases will be deployed to Flathub in parallel with these GitHub releases, typically within a few hours.

As such, GitHub releases will no longer contain Flatpak manifest JSONs. Self-building Flatpaks from source is still supported but is now only recommended for development and testing purposes. The project's README has been updated to point a dedicated dev manifest, configured to build from the latest commit on the main branch.

Congratulations on the offical flathub release!

For users who built Euphonica with the manifest, will they need to do anything to update their program or can they run flathub update and have flathub do the heavy lifting?

Thanks :D I haven't tried this, but I suppose you can simply install the Flathub one atop your current version as the application IDs haven't changed. The Flathub version should then inherit all the configuration I guess? You might also want to back your cached album arts, lyrics, etc. up first. Before installing, open your existing Euphonica version, go to Preferences -> Library and scroll way down. There will be a button to open the cache folder. You'll need to copy its contents to somewhere safe. Now, you can install the Flathub version and do the same to open its cache folder. If it's the same folder, then there's nothing to worry about. If not, paste the backed-up contents into it (overwriting newly-created empty DB files) & give Euphonica a restart (Ctrl+Q).

Looks like all that's needed will be to install the flathub version and it automatically replaces everything. This is perfect and has been a fantastic learning experience. You did a great job with this player and should be proud of yourself.
