Changes overview

  • Full support Iroha v2.0.0-rc-1.0
  • Reorganise the repo from the ground up, flatten structure
  • Convert workspace from Node & PNPM to Deno
  • Brand new codegen, fine-tuned for Iroha JS
  • Prepare to publish to https://jsr.io
  • Rename @iroha2 scope to @iroha; reset versioning, start from 0.1.0
  • Works in many JavaScript runtimes (Deno, Node.js, Bun, Browser). To be checked though.

New packages structure:

  • @iroha/core - core data model, crypto, utils
  • @iroha/client - client, interaction with Iroha API
  • @iroha/crypto-target-node, @iroha/crypto-target-web - WASMs for dedicated targets.

Postponed

  • Absolutely increase documentation coverage
  • Use native WebSocket by default. Would work in browsers and in Deno, but not in Node.js. In that case, users would have to use @iroha/client-web-socket-node adapter.
  • Extend browser tests - cover more crypto scenarious
  • Possible convenience feature - format transaction & query validation errors in a human-readable way
  • Data model:
    • Generate convenient selectors & predicates. Needs a bit more research, having a working prototype.
    • Generate every type as a class. Will allow things like HashOf and direct .encode()/.decode() methods instead of getCodec(x).encode().
