Fold branchs by prefix

When having many branches like fixup/issue-id-# ,
I would like to have the option to fold all branches with the prefix fixup/ into a single line.

Treat the branch like the file tree, where I can fold branches like directories.

With tools like GitKraken I had this option

While I totally agree with you on this part,

When using folders, we'd have to sort these by the dates of the most recent contained branch or something like that; for me this would make it much harder to find the interesting branches.

My primary concern with the current "sort by name" option is the absence of a mechanism to hide or reduce clutter in the display.

To effectively manage a large number of branches, I often prepend a prefix to the names of long-running PR branches to keep them visually grouped. The option to hide these groups when they are not the focus would be a significant quality-of-life improvement.
