Citation style not changing

Hi,
I'd like the citations to appear like this: [3], but no matter the citation style I choose in the bibtex config file, they keep appearing in this format: (Professor X et al., 2020). I'm using the template with NOVA IMS set in the school section, and if I change to FCT, the citation style changes to what I've selected. However, I need to keep the school as NOVA IMS. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you in advance!

The default for NOVA IMS is the current style that you do not want to have. :(

For changing the default, try adding \ntbibsetup{style=numeric-comp, sortcites=true, sorting=nyt} to the file "5_packages.tex".

If this solution did not work let mw know, I'll give you another one that certainly will…. :)

I tried this, but unfortunately it gives me an error (and doesn't change the citation style):
Class novathesis Error: Please load biblatex options earlier..

Then, please, open the file
NOVAthesisFiles/Schools/nova/ims/nova-ims-defaults.ldf
and in line 68, comment (or delete) the command
\ntbibsetup{style=apa}

Eh eh eh! I though that NOVA IMS was strict with the way references are exhibited in the text.
I'll search for a way to have a default format that is not strict and can be redefined. :)
