Fix column width issue when there are more than two columns in the trail nav window

Currently, the column width does not change if the nav window displays >2 columns. This should be fixed so that the column widths narrow when the number of columns increases, perhaps up to 6 columns fitting in the window together, rather than creating a big horizontal scroll.
