Data loss when making rez links after a search #1515

Description

@johnwdubois

What is the background of this bug report?

  • Serious data loss happens when making rez links, after a search.
  • All rez links are lost; cliques remain but have no data.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open a file (e.g. SBC028).
  2. Select the rez tool, and make a few rez links, and a few cliques.
  3. Check the resonance tab and clique tab to see that the data is there.
  4. Do a search for a word that appears in a rez link.
  5. Click on a search hit word (in blue text), and create a new rez link to another word.
  6. Notice that the rez-linked words do not automatically align. (That's okay.)
  7. Click on a word that is NOT A search hit (NO blue text), and create a new rez link to another word.
  8. Notice that the rez-linked words DO automatically align. (That's normal, but in this case it may signal a problem.)
  9. See the error: Rez data gets lost. Check the resonance tab and the clique tab; see that the data is NOT there.

Fix

  1. Make sure rez data do not get lost.
  2. Check to see if the problem happens with other link data (track chains, stacks...).
