Email mailto links with query params not working

When I try to create a email/mail to link, similar this "mailto:xxx@mmm.com?subject=Request to xxx&body=yyy zz". It strips of query parameters and just changes the link to mailto:xxx@mmm.com.

Is there a way to solve this?
