Support for Inline Diff view in addition to Side by Side

It would be great to be able to switch to an inline diff view in addition to the default side by side diff view.

Here is an example of this feature implemented in VS Code. Thanks!

This is likely a large task as it will require defining a different way for displaying a single document containing diff.

It also raises the question on how to get a homogeneous feature in Notebook diff as that is using a third party extension.

I see. Are regular .py file inline diff views any easier than notebooks? I can see how notebook in-line would be more complex.

Indeed it will be. But nothing is available as of yet to display a single document with diff inline. So not an easy task.
