Show tags in history overview

One useful enhancement would be to show any git tags in the History view, in the same way that branch names and the 'working' label is currently shown.

To implement this enhancement, we will need the following features implemented.

• Listing tags of repo
  When a repository is cloned all the tags present in a repository must be populated in a list similar to the branch dropdown.

• Checkout a tag
  When a tag is selected from the list, the version should be checked out to a new branch or as just a tag version. The git history of that branch should be populated. If the user wants to push the changes done on top of a certain tag version, create a new tag and push the tag to the remote repo.

• Create a tag
  After a commit, user must be able to create a tag

• Sharing a tag.
  In order to share a tag version, the user must be able to push the tags to the remote repository.

The UI must be modified to accommodate this. For the first two parts, a list similar to the branch drop down would help where user can see all the tags of a repo and can checkout a tag version. To create the tag, the existing branch creation UI elements can be used.

@chrisjohn2306 A tag UI would be nice. That's pretty different from the OP's original suggestion though. Can you please open a new issue and copy your suggestion over to that?

The tag feature has been implemented for viewing the list of tags and to checkout a specific tag version on click. #713
