A way to load layout files on start

Has anyone considered adding a simple way to load layouts before starting?
I believe in the original project options like loading layouts from a URL were discussed at some point, but never were added.
For me personally, the simplest and most efficient solution would be a Docker volume with layout files that can be preloaded and then selected as needed.
