How to force media rescan?

First: thank you for putting the scripts together, works great!

How do you (everyone) initiate a media rescan? When I mount a drive with pictures and videos on it; it is not picked up by Google Photos.

I found "SD Scanner" on F-Droid which seems to work. Media is picked up by Google Photos afterwards.

Any good alternatives or maybe even a terminal command?

the ext4 mounting script sends the MEDIA_SCANNER_SCAN_FILE intent automatically

however iiuc Google Photos doesn't update the media library on every single instance of the intent. there might be a rate limit / cool down time.

i find the most reliable way is just to force stop Google Photos, then reopen it. curious to know what others are doing.

Thank you for the quick reply! For me force-closing Google Photos does not work. I use an ext4 flash drive but the only reliable way to make Google Photos pick up the new folders and files is currently the SD Scanner 🤷‍♂️

I do everything via SSH on the Pixel, I will experiment a bit more and report back. Curious as well about how others are doing it

@master-hax in the 0.0.7 release the

is not included. I cloned the scripts from master now.
