MQTT implementation?

facebook-chat-api has some issues, such as Schmavery/facebook-chat-api#707 (or #54) or dependencies with security issues like #32.
At the end of the first link, you can see that people are discussing MQTT protocol, as used by libpurple or Bitlbee.
Would this be relevant for us to migrate to this protocol?
A NodeJS library is available here https://github.com/ChatPlug/libfb-js but users were saying it is not as feature-rich.
I have no knowledge of pro and cons of each protocol so I'm leaving the discussion to you.
