Listen is rarely detected

Hello,

I'm listening to music a lot via deezer or youtube but it rarely registers on my phone, even though I gave all permissions to the app, maybe it is unrecognized songs only ? where can I see that ? does it seem normal ?

Android 8 EMUI

Any help appreciated :)

Ah it seems it is detected and sent as a currently playing music but it does not always register as a listen after the song stopped playing

A listen being submitted depends totally upon how much a song has been played. We submit listen when half the duration + some buffer of the song has been played.

Thank you for your answer, though it doesn't register as a listen even though I'm listening them the entire duration
I'm using web scrobbler on pc and this feature works well

I've been using v2.9.1, and this is still a problem
One difference with before is that I didn't have the "Listening..." notification before which seems mandatory to have a background process allowed on my Huawei device so that's good
Though the same behavior is experienced, I can see I'm listening to a song, both on app and web at the same time, though the listens aren't registered as such, even though I listen fully to songs

The 2.9.2 version you prepared seems relevant to fix the issue, though I think the apk build is missing

Huawei is notorious for killing apps in bg. Reading up this guide should give you better clarity. Let me know if it helps.

Thank you, I did read again all advised measures for my device but I knew the website already and there is nothing to do actually
The proof is the listening now functionality works perfectly and app is still running all the time

@Bsd-us Could you send logs? Logs will only contain info about what song you were playing at what time. Please link this conversation and send the logs to jasjeet@metabrainz.org if you are comfortable :)

Play 2-3 songs until you face the issue and immediately record logs from settings. The app will freeze for a bit, just let it do its thing.

Thank you for your help, though I'm afraid it didn't fix the issue yet...

But I changed my device now and will probably not encounter this issue again, I am able to test with my old one still and this is what I did here, though maybe you shouldn't bother anymore, if I'm the only one...
