Messages Lost During Prolonged Disconnection Between Aedes (Server 1) and EMQX (Server 2) via Bridge

Architecture :
[Clients] --> [Server 1: Aedes] <--Bridge--> [Server 2: EMQX] --> [External Systems]

Server 1 (Aedes):

• Receives messages from local clients.
• Persistence: MongoDB (TTL increased, but no effect).
• Bridge client settings: clean: false, fixed clientId.

Server 2 (EMQX):

• Connects to Aedes via an MQTT bridge.
• Bridge keepalive determines reconnection wait time.

Problem
When Server 1’s internet is briefly interrupted, messages eventually sync to Server 2 after reconnection.
However, if the disconnection lasts longer than the bridge’s keepalive timeout:

• Messages are not delivered even after internet resumes.

Questions

• How to ensure Aedes retains messages indefinitely until the connection is restored?
• Are there Aedes settings that limit offline message storage duration?
• Could MongoDB persistence (e.g., TTL or write limits) cause this?
• Which EMQX bridge parameters are critical here (keepalive, retry_interval, clean_start)?
