What can I do to capture-clarify-org as fast as I do with Microsoft Todo's Quick add notification widget #1234

I really want to transition out from Microsoft ToDo but their quick add feature (in the Quick tiles, not notifications) has me tied.
It is super convenient, much faster than swiping to home screen and adding using a widget (which breaks the flow).
I can be reading a book, swipe down- click at top right, and create a next action that goes direct in my @computer list.
Swiping back and using the Simpletask widget is just not the same.
I really wish to get out of microsoft and switch to an open source app; I am sure the above is possible with some macro app that can make make an entry to todo.txt; but I am too unfamiliar with the concept of todo.txt to implement it.
Any suggestions on what I can do to replace that quick 'swipe down-qucik add into my lists feel'?
