Cannot select the previous myparcel shipping method after selecting another shipment method

What went wrong?

When there are other shipping methods available besides the my parcel shipping methods you are unable to reselect the previous selected myparcel shipping method after selecting another shipping method

For example on the store of our client you also have to possibility to select the shipping method "Pickup in store", this is a the default Magento shipping method "freeshipping"

By default the myparcel home delivery method is selected, after selecting the freeshipping method, you are unable to reselect the myparcel home delivery method. You are able to select another myparcel method, for example the myparcel pickup method.

I noticed in the issue backlog several issues have been made regarding exactly the same problem. Although it is mentioned in several of those issues it should be fixed, the issue seems to reintroduce itself apparently

Reproduction steps

1. Make sure you have different shipping methods activated in the Magento configuration besides the myparcel shipping methods. for example free shipping
2. Add a product to your cart and navigate to the checkout
3. Fill in a shipping address
4. Select a myparcel shipping method if one has not already been preselected
5. Select free shipping
6. try to select the previous my parcel method, you are unable to do so

Thank you for your elaborate and clear issue report.
This issue is solved in our upcoming v5 version which is currently in alpha (https://github.com/myparcelnl/magento/releases).
However, v5 currently assumes that ‘free shipping’ means that the shipping is free, and that for local pickup the ‘in-store delivery’ is used. Do I understand correctly that ‘free shipping’ is used as local pickup?

Good to know it should once again be fixed in an upcoming release. Is there a timeline available when this version will officially be released?

I do question if you understand the problem completely though, judging by your response. The context of the issue is not about free shipping or in store delivery specifically.

To clarify the issue occurs when besides the My Parcel methods other shipping methods are used. For example default Magento shipping methods like "Freeshipping", "Table rate" or "Flat rate". In our case the "Freeshipping" method is used with a the title "Afhalen in winkel". So you do understand correctly the the default Magento shipping method "Freeshipping" is used as local pickup. But this has nothing to do with the issue.

In my opinion the My Parcel shipping methods should function correctly together with other methods not related to My Parcel.
The current behaviour can lead to confusion and questions for customers not understanding why they can not change shipping method and possibly leads them to leaving the checkout and not completing the order.

Hi @jordy2607 , following our discussion we added a setting to the V5 plugin to allow for free shipping meaning local pickup (before we assumed free shipping would always mean exactly that).

Regarding the original bug report: I think I understand, because there is a problem with ‘deselecting’ the Delivery Options, you can not select the MyParcel shipping after selecting another method (like free shipping or anything else) because it would not ‘unselect’ itself. This behaviour is fixed in V5. The DO can (and will) be properly deselected and can be reselected.
Can you install v5.0.0-beta2 on your staging to verify, maybe, to be sure we are talking about the same thing now?

V5 will be released soon now, we need to fix 1 small bug which is planned for the beginning of october and get approval from testers, then we will release.
