Alternate shell variable?

Is there a way to find out what alternate shell user want to start? I know that in the log writes, but if log is off?

I think the log is the only place that information might go.

You can redirect the log to syslog. Might that help?

It doesn't really change anything — you still have to dig through the syslog. Isn't there a more "elegant" way?

I don't think so, at least not at the moment.

What kind of thing were you thinking of?

The goal is to route all connections through the default script (startwm.sh), but delegate execution to a pre-approved application if one is requested. This seems similar to publishing an application in RDS.

At the moment, an alternate shell is executed 'as is', if this functionality is enabled.

Do I take it you're requesting a different way to do this, where the default shell is always called, but the alternate shell is passed in (say) an environment variable, or on the command line?
