Hi! I'm Nishant 👋

I'm a UC San Diego 🔱 computer engineering grad (BS '24 / MS '25)! I love working with computers in both software and hardware roles and learning new technologies. I'm passionate about CS education and spreading CS to underrepresented communities!

• I'm currently working at:

  • 🚗 Waymo as a software engineer on the perception team!

• I previously was at:

  • 🔷 Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at UCSD, a computing org at UC San Diego as the President, and the VP of Events.

    • I facilitated over 250 events over the school year for a community of 3.5k students!
    • I hosted ACM's annual career fair, SPACE!
    • I founded DiamondHacks, ACM's hackathon to help get students interested in coding and further their skills, with over 200 attendees!
    • I founded ACM's outreach program, where we teach CS to underpriviledged students in the San Diego Community
    • I was the student org liason for the ECE Alumni Board, working to foster connections between student organizations and the department.

  • 🎮 Roblox as a software engineering intern, working on bringing OpenCloud to the Memory Stores service.

  • 🖥️ NVIDIA in the hardware infrastructure group on the Test Automation Team and then the Security Team as a software engineering intern.

    • On the Test Automation team, I built a web based platform for CPU and GPU engineers to see the status of all their running tests
    • On the Security team, I implemented observability on the security auditing platform, giving developers more insight onto the platform.

  • 🛰 NASA Goddard as a software engineering intern on the EOSDIS team working to create a usage based data discovery tool using machine learning and natural language processing.

  • The ECE Day committee to make an event that celebrates the spirit of Electrical and Computer Engineering!

  • The ECE Alumni Board as the ECE Student Org Liason, working to connect student orgs with the Alumni Board.

  • ⚛️ Protolab as a Developer, researching co-generation with LLMs. Read our paper submitted to CI 25 here.

  • 💡 Triton Software Engineering (TSE), as a developer, building a platform for the League of Amazing Programmers.

  • 🦜 Engineers for Exploration on the Acoustic Species ID Team, working to automatically label audio data from the Peruvian Amazon.

  • 🏠 NOMΛD (acquired by WISH STR Enterprises), a prop-tech SaaS startup disrupting the homesharing industry, as a tech lead.

  • 💠 ACM Dimensions, a conference aimed to exploring the various facets of technology, as both a developer and logistics lead.

In my freetime, I like to take photos, do pottery, visit nature, build mechanical keyboards and hang out and explore new foods!
