Order by for workitems migration source?

I'm wondering why the WorkItems are loaded with "ORDER BY [System.ChangedDate] desc".
Wouldn't it make more sense to load them ordered by ID asc? Then the lookup for links would match most of the time as you can suspect parents to be created before their childs (and maybe also for other links, too).

Right now, I assume it's just for convience to get the latest ones migrated first...

You can specify any order that you like...no?

That's exactly the reason for this question - why is there a default and does it have a meaning or just an example?
