Embedded musical scores

Today, these are given as images, but in an ideal world, they could be given as MEI, in the same vein as we demand MathML for mathematics. This would enable us to render them in a dynamic, navigable and accessible way, possibly with Verovio.

If anyone wants to work with me on a standard for doing it, just tell me. I understand if this issue is moved to the 2034-version.

Interesting. There is a group working on music braille at MTM. They might be interested in joining up on this.

I'd interested in talking to anyone working on a solution for to this. If a score in a book could be collected in one element, one of the sub elements could simply be music braille given in unicode braille signs, and hence this project could be interesting for those working on traditional music braille.

8-dot music braille (https://blogs.loc.gov/nls-music-notes/2022/09/19th-century-tactile-music-notation-in-spain/) is also an interesting thought, since 8-dot is now a common thing - much more so than in the fifties, when the Spanish authorities abandoned it to unify braille notation. Perhaps this could be introduced in a kind way - as a display option.

Another gain of such a strategy is dynamic enlargement of scores, and this would of course be interesting for people with low vision.
