new-sdk: create own standalone example with custom board directory

Following the guideline for standalone projects, I coudn't find out on how to build a project with a custom board without changing files in the SDK Repository itself.

Which Vars have to be set?

Hi @tq-delimayuki, I see you already raised for nxp-mcuxpresso/mcuxsdk-manifests#2 in our new SDK project, this issue should be related. You could move to the new issue for further discussion.

We have stopped maintaining this old SDK project, thus any contribution should go to our new SDK project mcuxsdk, appreciate for your understanding!
