Sporadic OSError: [Errno 28] No space left on device on GitHub-hosted runners.

WIP branch is #4734, current error message code is Process completed with exit code 143.
The same error code is observed sporadically on the develop branch as well

Seems like this might be an issue with limited resources on ubuntu-latest GH runners. I wonder if we will be able to try large GH runners for this particular workflow.
