Description of issue

Recently brew started showing the new casks with a description string. I loved this display, as it lets me discover new and great software.

Is there any easy way to get a continuous list like this out? I'd like to process it to provide an RSS feed of new casks. Preferably in a way that doesn't miss casks if I run it twice, so I'd like a full list of casks in order of release if possible (or an easy way to parse the formulaes myself for this).

Our JSON API is regenerated every 15 minutes. You could diff that I suppose: https://formulae.brew.sh/api/cask.json.

There aren't any sort of timestamps in the API data, so that's not really possible.

Which is why you need to do "diff"s.
In other words, the app would keep a local history and then use the library equivalent of https://github.com/josephburnett/jd

It would be nice if the app:

1. showed you the diff since the last time you queried
2. showed you the daily diffs

Homebrew is not a discoverability service. It is not a project goal to provide the kind of information you're asking for.

Feel free to 'vibecode' your own solution for this, but it's not something we are going to officially support.
