Describe your request

It would really be a huge relief to have a helper where you can select a location on the map and then have the longitude and latitude available in the attributes.

Why the uncertainty?

I just don't know where to put it.

Use cases

For example, in the lightning location card you always have to specify the longitude and latitude if you want to have a location other than your home you have to enter that, instead you could simply enter the sensor.

Or generally anywhere where you have to enter the longitude and latitude you would simply have to enter the helper.

There exist a LocationSelector so I think this should be closed and you need to open specific requests for where it should be used (like the example you have provided).

Where can I find it? I looked in the helper list but couldn't find anything on the internet.

A zone entity (passive mode) could be repurposed as a kind of location helper.

Lighting location card I guess is a custom card, you would have to ask that card's developer to support taking inputs indirectly via entity.

There are location sensors already, just make a template sensor where the main state is lat, lon

Not perfect but it should work via the UI.

For yaml you can set the attributes.
