Major changes incoming for the SIMATIC AX community

Hey everybody,

we're currently reviewing the SIMATIC AX community. While doing so we're focusing on cleaning up existing repositories. Be prepared that the following steps will be carried out:

1. Identify and archive non-necessary repositories
2. Delete not required repositories which have served as a catch basin for certain package deployments
3. Provide and incorporate a reusable docker image (containing AX specific tooling) that could be used to execute SIMATIC AX CI workflows
4. Provide and incorporate reusable GitHub actions and workflows

We're doing this in order to minimize the effort of maintaining our very own repositories and maximizing the automation of processes, while also offering templates to our users, to save some time.

Update: We are happy to announce that the newly structured GitHub actions for SIMATIC AX have been released. Feel free to checkout the documentation and usage. We hope to deliver a much greater convenience when it comes to setting up CI workflows for SIMATIC AX.

Note however, that the actions currently require an existing apax installation to be present. Since we're still in the phase of clearing the apax CI image (a docker image containing apax), we are not able to provide access to that image publicly. That means in the meantime you'd have to take care of yourself building such image, until we're done with the clearing.
